Welcome to the Webb Sledge Photography blog, and to a new adventure for me as a photographer. I might write more here at some point, but for now just know that this website and the photography you see here represents something I never thought I’d do: turn professional (even if it’s part-time for now). This blog will showcase photos from the variety of gigs and events that I do as a photographer, and I expect to exhibit the majority of my work here, while a selection of it — my portfolio — resides on the main website.
Unfortunately I’ve chosen to begin this journey in the middle of the winter when there is typically a lull in weddings and engagements sessions, but the goal is to seek out primarily wedding and engagement work over the next 6-to-12 months. So, if you’re looking for reasonably priced engagement or wedding photos, or you are a photographer yourself and need a second shooter for an upcoming gig, let me know. I’d love to hear from you.
Briefly, for those who do not already know me: if you didn’t guess from the fancy domain, my name is Webb Sledge (yes, that’s my real name). At the time of this writing I’m 33 years old and married to my wonderful wife Jess of nearly eight years. We don’t have children, but live in Charlottesville, Virginia with our tabby cat Toby. I am an accountant and financial analyst by day and a photographer in my spare time. Perhaps one day I will be able to stop looking at spreadsheets and take up photography full-time, but for now crunching numbers pays the bills. It may seem like an odd pairing — finance and photography. Ostensibly they don’t have much in common, but finance and photography both reward precision and attention to detail, and some of the personality traits that have allowed me to succeed in finance do, in fact, come in handy in my more artistic pursuits.
